Other Information to gain the most benefits and have a repeatable enjoyable experience for yourself and your fellow yogis! These are bits and pieces we have found that help make the studio a comfortable, clean and fun environment every session!

  • We encourage you to use our free Collierville Yoga App to register for your weekly sessions. If you don’t show, no worries, our policy is we won’t charge you if your plan falls through!
  • On the very rare occasion when you are the only student, the class will be cancelled and you will be given an additional session on your class card!
  • We recommend you plan and commit to 2-3 sessions per week to gain the most benefit and have the most fun!
  • We have community yoga mats if you do not have one or forgot yours. We highly recommend you purchase your own mat and are happy to recommend brands suited for your needs. Mats MAY be stored in the studio yoga mat closet. Please mark the mat with your name or in a mat bag easily identified as yours. We do this as a courtesy and are not responsible for the security of your mat.
  • Please remove your shoes when you enter the studio! Place them along the entryway wall. Please NO SHOES on the hardwood floors at any time!
  • We provide storage bins on a first come first serve basis for your personal belongings. We are not responsible for your belongings. Leave anything valuable at home or stored out of sight in your vehicle.
  • Cell phones are NOT permitted on the studio floor. They are distracting. If for some reason you must monitor your phone for special circumstances, request permission from the instructor and place your phone on vibrate on a soft towel to limit disturbance. Practice in the rear of the hardwood area. Do not answer phone calls or texts inside the studio. Quietly exit the studio before answering. In all other instances please place phones to OFF (not vibrate) and leave with your belongings or store out of sight in your vehicle!
  • If this is your first session, please introduce yourself to the instructor and she/he will assist you!
  • SIGN IN for every session even if you pre=booked on the Collierville Yoga App. Print clearly and include your last name. Our student pool includes more than 750 members.
  • If you need to purchase or pay, please pay using our Collierville Yoga App before class! If you pay in the studio we accept cash/check. Present your payment to the instructor and she/he will record the payment on the sig-in sheet. You will receive a digital email receipt within 24 hours provided we have a valid email address on file.
  • If you have any physical limitations or concerns regarding your abilities, please let the instructor know BEFORE the session begins. She/he will provide recommendations/variations to make the session comfortable for you and your abilities. In some cases, you may need to watch more challenging portions. Our concern is for you to learn and enjoy every practice!
  • We recommend arriving 10 – 15 minutes before the session’s scheduled start time to get settled in and relax before the session begins. Rushing to yoga is counterproductive. If you will be more than 10 minutes after the session has started, attend the next session.
  • If you arrive late (up to 10 minutes after session start), quietly come in and wait for the instructor direct you to the nearest open spot at the back of the studio.
  • Wear comfortable loose clothing to enable movement standing and sitting. Wear an outer layer on top easy to remove if you get warm.
  • Studio temperatures are maintained generally in the mid 70 degree range. Depending on the ambient relative humidity, it may feel warmer at different times. We do not heat the room above 80 degrees or cool the room below 70 degrees. We open the windows and use fresh air when the weather permits. If conditions are uncomfortable and outside this standard, please inform the instructor and she/he will adjust accordingly to suit the. Yin Class temperatures are kept in the cooler range to work deep tissues. Master level session temperatures are generally on the warmer side of the standard. Always dress appropriately for each class to be comfortable.
  • Hydrate 1-2 hours before a class. The goal is to avoid dehydration and have an empty bladder during your session. You may have water (no ice) only on the hardwood. Ice water is counterproductive to the practice. Sip water as needed if you experience cramping. We do have bottled water in the studio available for cash only ($2 Smart Water).
  • Eat a light meal 2-4 hours before a session. The goal is to be as empty as possible but not experience low sugar levels or fatigue.
  • If at any point in any session you feel discomfort, dizziness, fatigue, overheated, experience joint pain, rest in a prone position. The instructor may ask you to rest. Yoga is not about perseverance or endurance. Yoga is about stability and steadiness in every posture which is developed over a period of regular practice! Let yoga work! Don’t over exert in any class! The benefits are developed over time with regular attendance. Yoga is not a quick fix solution. It takes time and patience!
  • Please wipe up any perspiration on the hardwood around your mat after practice! Help us keep the studio clean! Take any excess trash, plastic recyclables with you. We do not have a cleaning staff.
  • Please put away any blocks, blankets, straps, bolsters, and extra mats before you leave. Refold blankets neatly for the next session participants
  • During in climate weather, check the Collierville Yoga App for cancellations, posting on FB or text 901-338-4456 to inquire.
  • Do not eat heavy for 1 hour after each session. Eating heavy or too soon is counterproductive. Drink room temperature water to rehydrate as needed. Excessively cold drinks, sugary drinks or alcohol is counterproductive after practice.
